Filler Dissolving
ABOUT FILLER DISSOLVING ↘
Lip filler dissolving uses Hyaluronidase (Hylenex®), an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers. This treatment may be appropriate for patients who are unhappy with previous filler, experiencing migration, asymmetry, persistent lumps, or who simply wish to return to a more natural appearance.
At Revyve Aesthetics + Wellness, we understand that deciding to dissolve filler can feel overwhelming. Our goal is to provide honest guidance, compassionate care, and realistic expectations while helping you determine the best course of treatment for your unique situation.
Not every concern requires complete dissolving. During your consultation, we'll evaluate your lips and discuss whether spot dissolving, partial dissolving, or full dissolving is the most appropriate option.
HOW IT WORKS ↘
Hylenex® is injected into the areas where hyaluronic acid filler is present. The enzyme begins breaking down the filler over the following hours and days, allowing your body to naturally absorb the dissolved product.
Because every patient responds differently, some individuals achieve their desired result after one treatment, while others may require additional sessions depending on the amount, type, and age of the filler.
THE TREATMENT EXPERIENCE ↘
Your appointment is designed to be informative, supportive, and personalized.
Consultation
We'll review your filler history, examine your lips, discuss your concerns, and determine whether dissolving is the best option.
Customized Treatment Plan
Every treatment is tailored to your individual anatomy and goals. Not every patient requires complete filler removal.
Treatment
Hylenex® is carefully injected into the treatment area using precise techniques to target the unwanted filler.
Follow-Up
We'll monitor your healing and determine whether additional dissolving or future lip enhancement is appropriate once the tissue has fully recovered.
WHAT TO EXPECT ↘
Immediately After Treatment
Temporary swelling, redness, tenderness, or mild bruising is common.
First Few Days
The filler gradually begins to break down as your body naturally absorbs it. Results may continue to evolve over several days.
Follow-Up Evaluation
We'll reassess your results and determine whether additional treatment is recommended.
Future Lip Enhancement
If you choose to refill your lips, we generally recommend allowing adequate healing before placing new filler. During your follow-up, we'll discuss the appropriate timing based on your individual results.
